I lifted up my eyes and saw: there was a man holding a measuring line.

Then I asked, “Where are you going?” And he answered me, “To Jerusalem, to measure it, to see how wide it is and how long it is.”

And while the angel who was speaking with me went forward, another angel came forward to meet him,

who was given this command: “Run, speak to that young man, saying: Jerusalem shall remain as open country because of the multitude of people and animals in it.

And I myself, declares the LORD, will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory within her.”

Come, come, flee from the land of the north, declares the LORD; for to the four winds of heaven I have scattered you, declares the LORD.

Come, escape to Zion, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon!

For thus says the LORD of hosts, who sent me in his glory, concerning the nations that plundered you — for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye —:

“Behold, I will shake my hand against them, and they shall become plunder for those who were once subject to them. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me.
10
Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst, declares the LORD;
11
and many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day and shall be my people, and I will dwell in your midst.” Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.
12
And the LORD will take Judah as his portion in the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem.
13
Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.
