The Book of Amos contains God's message of judgment against the nation of Israel for social injustice, false worship, and religious hypocrisy. Amos, a shepherd from Judah, was called to prophesy destruction for Israel because they lived in prosperity while oppressing the poor and neglecting God's law. Although the tone is severe, the book ends with a promise of restoration for those who repent.
