Many people try to make decisions based on the opinions around them. We often feel safe when our steps receive the approval of many people. Yet the truth is, God’s plan for our lives does not always make sense to the world, and it does not need their approval.
Jesus is the clearest example. When He chose the path of the cross, many rejected and did not understand. Peter even said, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” (Matthew 16:22). From a human point of view, the cross was a failure. But from the Father’s point of view, the cross was the greatest victory. If Jesus had listened to the voice of the world, we would never have received salvation.
The same thing happened to Noah. When he built the ark on dry ground (Genesis 6:13-22), many people may have thought he was crazy. Yet he remained obedient, because following God’s instructions was more important than human approval. In the end, it was his obedience that saved his family.
Sometimes God’s plan for our lives will confuse others: why are you leaving something profitable, why are you forgiving the person who hurt you, or why are you daring to walk a different path. God’s plan often goes beyond human logic.
Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” This verse reassures us that we cannot measure God’s plan by human standards.
Therefore, do not wait for the world’s applause to confirm your step of faith. What matters is not who agrees with you, but who walks with you, and that is the Lord Himself. The world may reject it, but if God designed it, nothing can cancel it.
Lord, teach me to trust Your plan more than seeking the world’s approval. Help me to step forward boldly even when others do not understand, because I know You are in control. Strengthen my heart to obey Your will. Amen.
