Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my heart.

Am I the sea, or a sea monster, that You set a guard over me?

If I say, ‘My bed will comfort me, and my couch will ease my complaint,’

then You frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions,
15
so that I would rather be strangled and die than bear my misery.
16
I am weary; I do not want to live forever. Leave me alone, for my days are only a breath.
17
What is man, that You should make him great, and that You should set Your heart on him,
18
and visit him every morning, and test him every moment?
19
How long will You not turn Your gaze from me, and leave me alone, until I can swallow my saliva?
20
If I have sinned, what have I done to You, O Watcher of men? Why have You made me Your target, so that I am a burden to myself?
21
And why do You not pardon my transgression and remove my iniquity? For now I lie down in the dust; then You will seek me, but I will be no more.”
😔🕰️💬 Summary of Job 7 – A Direct Lament to God: “Why Do You Watch Me?”
In Job 7, Job turns away from his friends and speaks directly to God. He expresses deep physical and inner suffering, and questions why God pays such close attention to him — not to save him, but as though to punish him. This is one of the most honest and raw passages in the book of Job, showing that honesty in prayer is part of faith, not proof of rebellion.
📌 1. My Life Is No Better Than a Weary Laborer’s (verses 1–6)
➡️ Job compares his life with laborers and slaves:
“Must not a human being struggle on the earth, like a slave longing for the shade?”
➡️ His nights were full of restlessness and skin disease, and his days full of emptiness

“My days pass more swiftly than a weaver’s shuttle” — meaning: so fast and so empty
