(12-2) Help, LORD, for the godly man is no more;
the faithful have vanished from among the children of men.

(12-3) They speak falsehood, each one with his neighbor;
they speak with flattering lips and a double heart.

(12-4) May the LORD cut off all flattering lips
and every boastful tongue,

(12-5) those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail;
our lips are with us. Who is lord over us?”

(12-6) Because of the oppression of the poor,
because of the groaning of the needy,
now I will arise, says the LORD;
I will set him in safety from him who puffs at him.

(12-7) The words of the LORD are pure words,
like silver tried in a furnace of earth,
purified seven times.

(12-8) You, LORD, will keep them;
you will preserve them from this generation forever.

when vileness is exalted among the children of men.
🕊️🙏📖 Summary of Psalm 12 – “The Word of the Lord Is Pure in a World Full of Deceit”
Psalm 12 is David’s cry to God in the midst of a morally broken society. Lies, hypocrisy, and pride fill human speech. In such a world, David longs for God’s deliverance. This psalm becomes a confession of faith that though people cannot be trusted, the word of the Lord remains pure and trustworthy.
The Lord hears the complaint of the oppressed and promises to rise up in their defense. At the close of the psalm, the contrast is made plain: human speech is full of deceit, but the speech of the Lord is pure and saving.
📌 1. The Scarcity of the Godly and the Honest (verses 1–2)
➡️ David cries out: “Help, LORD! The godly are gone.”
