(42-3) My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and behold God?

because all day long people say to me, “Where is your God?”

(42-5) These things I remember, while my soul is cast down within me:
how I used to go along with the throng,
leading them in procession to the house of God
with shouts of joy and songs of thanksgiving,
amid the multitude keeping festival.

(42-6) Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you troubled within me?
Hope in God! For I shall yet praise Him,
my help and my God!

(42-7) My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember You
from the land of the Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.

(42-8) Deep calls to deep at the roar of Your waterfalls;
all Your breakers and Your waves have gone over me.

(42-9) The LORD commands His steadfast love by day,
and at night His song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life.

(42-10) I say to God, my rock:
“Why have You forgotten me?
Why must I go mourning under the oppression of the enemy?”

while they say to me all day long: “Where is your God?”
