Psalm 46 is a song of victory and protection, sung by the sons of Korah. This psalm declares that the Lord is a refuge amid the turmoil of nature, the unrest of nations, and the attacks of enemies. It is a psalm of unshaken confidence, often quoted in times of crisis or disaster.
This psalm also inspired Martin Luther’s well-known hymn: “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”
📌 1. The Lord as Refuge in Disaster (verses 1–3)
➡️ “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
➡️ Though the earth shakes and the mountains tremble, we will not fear.
