Grace is a term we often hear in Christianity, but it is not always easy for us to fully understand. Sometimes we think grace is something we receive at the beginning of repentance, and then after that it depends on how hard we fight. However, the Bible shows that God’s grace never runs out and remains available, not only to save, but also to sustain and strengthen us every day.
In Lamentations 3:22-23 it is written, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” This verse is not only a poetic beauty, but a truth we can hold firmly: God’s grace does not depend on our condition, but on His faithful character.
Many of us feel guilty when we fail and think God will give up on us. But grace is not a reward for obedience; it is a free gift from God who understands human weakness. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God said to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” In other words, God does not wait for us to become strong before He steps in. He works most clearly when we are weak and fully dependent on Him.
Often we want to prove that we deserve to be blessed, that we are good enough to be used by God. But grace works beyond that worthiness. God uses the weak, restores the broken, and lifts up those who are overlooked. Ephesians 2:8-9 affirms that “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Awareness of this grace should not make us relaxed in our spiritual lives, but rather encourage us to live with gratitude. We obey not to earn God’s love, but because we have already been loved first. Grace does not remove discipline, but it gives the right motivation to live rightly.
So when we fail, when we fall, or when we feel unworthy, remember that God’s grace is unending. He still reaches out His hand, invites us back, and gives us strength to move forward again. Lord, thank You for Your grace that never runs out. When I fail, You remain faithful. Teach me to live in gratitude, not because I am worthy, but because You love unconditionally. Amen.
