When We Are Weary, God Still Uses Our Hearts

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
(Matthew 11:28)

We often think God can only use those who are enthusiastic, strong, and full of fire. But the Bible repeatedly shows that God actually delights in using weary hearts that come with honesty and humility.

Consider Elijah. A great prophet who once prayed and fire came down from heaven. But after that, he ran away in fear, sat under a tree, and said, “Enough, LORD, take my life” (1 Kings 19:4). He was physically and emotionally exhausted. Yet it was at that moment God drew near, gave him food, and whispered a gentle voice that strengthened him.

Weariness is not a sign that we have failed. Weariness is a signal that we are human, and we need God.

God is not looking for your strength. He is looking for a surrendered heart. Even when you cannot find words to pray, when your breath is only enough to whisper “Lord, help…”, that is enough for Him to work.

Donโ€™t think you have to ‘recover’ first before God can use you. God can use the remnants of your strength. Sometimes it is through your weakness that His power is made evident. A weary heart can still encourage others. A weary heart can still bear witness. A weary heart can still walk with God, one small step at a time each day.

If you are weary today, donโ€™t give up. Come to Him. Lay down your burdens. Let Him restore you. Because in Godโ€™s hands, even a heart that is nearly spent remains precious and useful.
