I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

Now our feet stand within your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, that is built as a city that is compact together,

where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD, according to the ordinance given to Israel.

For there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.

Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.
8
For my brothers’ and companions’ sake, I will now say, Peace be within you.
9
For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.

Psalm 122 is the third Song of Ascents (Shir HaMa‘alot), and one of the psalms written by David.
It is a song of joy and longing for the house of God, and a prayer for Jerusalem — the center of worship, government, and the peace of God’s people.
📌 1. Joy in Going to the House of the LORD (verses 1–2)
