Psalm 57 was written by David when he fled from Saul and hid in a cave (1 Samuel 24). Though he was in hiding and under threat of death, this psalm is not a cry of fear, but a call of faith and worship.
David describes himself as taking refuge under the shadow of God’s wings, and though his enemies still threaten, his heart is steadfast and ready to praise the Lord.
