Waiting is not an easy matter. We live in an instant world, where food can arrive within minutes and information is just a touch away. But there are things in life that cannot be rushed: answers to prayers, restoration of relationships, life callings, or God’s promises that have yet to be fulfilled.
God often shapes our character not in the moment of answers, but in the process of waiting. Psalm 37:7 says, โBe still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.โ Waiting is not just about time, but about the attitude of the heart.
Unfortunately, we often fill the waiting period with complaints: โWhy not yet?โ โWhen is it my turn?โ Yet, complaining only increases impatience, while silence and trust strengthen faith. In Romans 12:12 we are reminded, โBe joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.โ Patience does not mean giving up, but continuing to believe even when we have not seen.
Waiting without complaining means surrendering control to God. It is like saying, โLord, I do not understand Your timing, but I trust You are faithful.โ In Isaiah 40:31 it is promised, โBut those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…โ
Perhaps you are currently waiting for a long-awaited answer to prayer, a door that has not yet opened, or God’s presence in a difficult situation. Do not extinguish your faith with complaints. Believe that God works silently, and His timing is always perfect.
