Every day we bring something before God, whether we realize it or not. It could be gratitude, burdens, prayers, questions, or even just the silence of the heart. God never asks us to come with something perfect. He actually invites us to come as we are, bringing our true hearts.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Notice that His invitation is not only for the strong and successful, but for those who are weary and weak. God values the honesty of the heart more than the perfection of appearance.
Sometimes we think, “I have to be okay first before coming to God.” But the truth is, we will never truly be okay without coming to Him. Even wounds, failures, and guilt are things we can bring before God. He does not reject a broken heart. Psalm 51:17 says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”
What are you bringing today? Is it worry about the future? Is it disappointment because your prayers have not been answered? Or maybe gratitude for the blessings you have just received? No matter the form, God wants to hear it all. He is a Father who delights when His child comes to speak without fear.
In 1 Peter 5:7 it is written, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” The word “all” means there is no worry too small or too big for God. He cares about every detail of your life.
Bringing something before God is not only about asking, but also about offering our hearts. Maybe today we can say, “Lord, I bring my weariness. I bring my hope. I bring all that I have, including myself.” Sometimes what God wants is simply our willingness to open our hands and surrender all burdens.
So, what are you bringing before God today? Whatever it is, bring it with faith that God hears, cares, and is able to turn it into something good.
