“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godโs will isโhis good, pleasing and perfect will.”
(Romans 12:2)
We all love to hear that God can change our lives. But the question is: am I still willing to be changed? Or have I become too comfortable with the way I live now?
Sometimes change doesnโt feel pleasant at first. When God touches the deepest parts of our heartsโthe hidden habits, old wounds, stubborn attitudesโour natural reaction might be to resist. We want His blessings, but we may not be ready to accept His correction. Yet, spiritual growth always goes hand in hand with a willingness to be transformed.
Jesus did not call His disciples to just be good people, but to become new. Peter, who was initially quick-tempered and defensive, became a humble apostle ready to suffer for Christ. That was not an overnight result. It was the outcome of a heart willing to be continually shaped.
Often we pray, “Lord, use me.” But a deeper prayer is, “Lord, change me.” Because God uses lives that resemble Him not because they are the greatest, but because they are the most ready to be molded.
If today God reveals things in you that need to be cleansed, do not reject it. It is proof that He is still working in your life. And as long as we are willing to change, we give room for the Holy Spiritโs work to make us more like Christ.
